I’d take him over chase or smith. Change my mind

Some of you people don’t seem to understand Kyle pitts is a pass catcher first. He would be a first round receiver if that’s the only position he played. He’s not a tight end that can catch he’s a receiver that can block

Pitts is crazy good, but durability is a little bit of a question and outside receivers are more valuable.

Chase>Pitts

You act like pitts can’t line up out wide. Hell he might be even better out there

TE is an insanely hard position to project, and no matter how good the TE, you pretty much get zero out of them as a rookie

Chase can be a difference maker WR1 from the first day of camp

But Kyle pitts isn’t a normal tight end. He’s 6’6 and runs in the 4.4s. He could play receiver full time if he wanted too.

WR's are flat out more important generally speaking than TE's.

After Jefferson’s success last season how can you not take Chase first among skill players

You do realize if Kyle pitts played receiver full time he’d still be a 1st round talent right?

You’re betting on something that hasn’t happened before tho. Rookie TEs give you nothing historically. There’s hardly even any outliers to that rule.

Not that I wouldn’t draft Pitts, he’s a freak, but so is Chase and we’ve seen rookie WRs tear the league up, especially in recent years from the jump. So if they are comparable players, I’ll take that one and not think twice about it

If you want to draft a WR, why wouldn’t you draft the better WR in chase

How well does he block?

because I don’t believe he is. You can’t go wrong with him or chase there both freaks and matchup nightmares in different ways I just think pitts is slightly better and slightly harder to guard while giving you more versatility

As a pure WR? That’s silly

I'm not sure what you think this means. Nobody is arguing his first round talent. Your OP is aiming at "first skill player taken". You may be right, but my argument would generally be a WR is more important in most NFL offense's. A team like ATL, they already got WR's.

It means he’s arguably a better receiver than smith or chase because he can do things with his size and ball skills they simply can’t, he can still stretch the field the same way they do, and he can give you an advantage neither of them can by blocking so you can use him in weird situations and formations as well as complex routes from an H back position that most tight ends can’t give you because of lack of athleticism. I’m a football coach and he just makes me drool with everything he could bring to an offense. Chase and smith are good but they’re just another great receiver. Pitts will be generational barring injury

he can't do the same things. he's not the same type of player. straight line speed isn't everything with being a WR. Why aren't there more 6'6 WR's running around if size is so important?
