I think the real reason that I despise Lebron so much is b/c he's the one who came and stole Kobe's thunder. When Kobe broke into the league, I envisioned him having the potential to be the best ever. Then LB comes and I had a completely new realization. The truth hurts and I'll be the first to admit it. It's just that I'm a devoted Kobe fan.

I'll always have to side with Jr. on that one.

No, but that doesn't mean anything. He HAS 3. You can play ifs all day, doesn't change reality.

So rings are the only measure of a great player

No but saying a guy with 0 rings is a better leader than a guy with 3 is complete bullshite. Unless you know the two personally, which you don't.

Are you kidding me? Kobe played with Shaq to get those 3 rings. Kobe was very important to those championships, but Shaq will always be considered the leader of those teams. Who was the finals MVP when Kobe won those titles?

Good Point. But I still don't think rings makes a player.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. My guess is he only read the last sentence--what he wanted to hear.

Ken Griffey Jr

If only he could have stayed healthy. I could watch him swing a bat all day. Picture perfect. No homo.

no he did... just your reason for not liking lebron bc he "stole kobe's thunder" is funny to me... kobe had the potential and is a phenomenal 2 guard... i just think lebron is the total package right now... and its only been this season... even before the olympics, i woulda said kobe was the best in the world (and im a huge lebron homer)... but the olympics and this season, lebron has just been on another level

It doesn't and I usually hate bringing up championships because that is a team thing. But you can't say a guy with 3 rings has no leadership.

There has to be a third string QB somewhere that has 2-3 Super Bowl ring, Maybe Matt Cassel, that didn't do anything to get them.

Does Cassel have leadership skills? He might have shown some this year, but he didn't do anything to get his rings. I'm just saying that skill doesn't mean everything. You have to be in the right situation and on the right team.

Kobe Bryant and a 3rd string QB have nothing in common. That is honestly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

I go back and forth. I live in LA and see more of Kobe. I think that he has more of an all-around game, but Lebron is sometimes just ridiculous with what he can do. Right now I say that Kobe is better, but Lebron has more "wow" and will ultimately end up having the better career.

And saying that Lebron is more like MJ because he isn't selfish is ridiculous. MJ was very selfish for the first 5 or 6 years. He really didn't get a whole lot better either. But Phil Jackson was able to get him to let his teammates get involved for the first quarter or two before he took over. Once he took over it was all MJ. Kobe was the same way, but has been less selfish, if anything. Lebron is on another level with team play. More like Magic than Jordan or Bird.

MJ didnt have teammates for the first few years... he had to be selfish if there was any chance they were gonna win

go read "playing for keeps" by david halberstam... easily the best book i've ever read about jordan and his career
