Wade was great that series, but he was heavily assisted by the refs. He averaged 16 free throws a game people, and a handful were when he wasn't even touched. It used to be on youtube, but was removed when the Donaghy scandal surfaced last year.

I still think it is hilarious that people still blame the refs for this. While Wade did shoot as many free throws in one game as the entire Mavs team and the Heat shot 52 more free throws in the series than the Mavs, you wanna know how much that helped the Heat???

The Heat made a total of 3 more free throws than the Mavs did in the series. So, even if the refs were trying to throw the game, it resulted in a massive 3 point swing for the Heat. I'm going to say that multiple times so people can understand this.

THREE point swing
3 point swing
3 point differential
THREE point differential

Heat made 125 free throws and the Mavs made 122. Please stop acting like the refs cost the Mavs this series.

Bottom line. Game 5, Mavs up 1. Wade drives to basket, gets breathed on, goes to FT line. Heat take 3-2 series lead.

The refs made a 5 point difference in game 5 alone, that game was decided by 1.

yeah, it's a series though. you know, they played 6 games, not one. but, if they had only played game 5, I could understand your argument. Fortunately for the Mavs, they had 5 other chances to beat the Heat and were 2-3 in those other games.

If you put Vince Carter or Allen Iverson in that same position, they would have 3 rings as well

Ok comparing Vince Carter to Kobe is worse than comparing Kobe to MJ.

The Mavs didn't go 0-6 against hte Heat, they went 2-4. Of those 4 Heat "wins", 2 were legit.

Okay. And, the Mavs shot more free throws in game one. So, the Mavs had 1 legitimate win.

The margin was 10 that game , and there wasn't a slew of phantom fouls.

It's not the FT disparity that's the issue, it's how some of the FT's were earned for the Heat that is the issue. the 2006 finals are tainted, and a sad chapter in the otherwise wonderful history of the NBA.

Bulls dynasty.... Spurs dynasty.... an old 1-man Cheat team with aging players like Jason Williams? Antoine Walker? Gary Payton? That's the stuff of champions? Mediocrity on offense and defense? no.

What a wonderful story it would've been... a deep Mavs team led by the unconventional foreign superstar Dirk Nowitzki... after a thrilling game 7 against the Spurs that ended in OT, and a 50 point performance in the WCF... hoisting the Larry O brien... but the refs said "nope".

June 20th, 2006, the day the NBA weeped.

Kige, you don't even watch the NBA, you're not allowed to have an opinion.

BTW, I absolutely hate Kobe Bryant because my cousin, theunknownknight is as geh for him as Ghazi is for Dirk.

But, Kobe Bryant is the 2nd most talented player to ever play the game. He's been better than any player in the NBA since Jordan retired. His skill set is by far greater than any other player playing the game today. And, it isn't even close.

I saw Kobe play for the first time in person last week against New Orleans.

Every time he took a shot one of three things happened: He made it, he missed but was apparently fouled and got to shoot 2 of his 15 free throws in that game, or he missed and whined to the ref that he was fouled.

The best was when he missed a dunk point blank and the ref called a foul about a second after he missed the dunk. Replay showed he wasn't even touched, he just flat out missed it and the ref assumed Kobe only misses dunks if he's fouled. One of the louder ray of boos I've heard at the arena. Then 2 minutes later, Kobe trys again and this time makes the dunk, then stares David West down like he's hot shite. What a joke.
