I believe if you watch the 1996 uga at auburn game, btw 4 OT game and my first dsor game as a student, I think you will see on the uga side Bobo at QB and Smart and Muschamp on defense.
And Takeo Spikes (should have been if I remember right) and Dameyune Craig at QB for Auburn.
Shooting from the hip but I think they were all there.

He's a UGA alum and part of Saban's coaching tree. Shouldn't shock anyone.
Yeah, but who on Saban's tree has gone on to be successful as a head coach? Certainly not Muschamp. And I don't think Smart is really any different.

Ray Goof was the coach between Dooley and Donnan

Offensive coaches. Hard to know how good Smart is not coaching under a defensive legend. Could be a big hit or a disaster.

When my team plays UGA, I have a glimmer of hope that we'll win even when we really suck, because Mark Richt is their coach
what team are you exactly? Because UF is the only school in 15 years that richt didn't have a winning record against (assuming more than 1 meeting).

In his only year at LSU he coached the DBs. Basically, he taught Ronnie Prude to get into great coverage for this play...

UGA is ahead of these schools, and I'm also not entirely convinced UGA is ahead of LSU and Ohio State.
For all practical purposes, UGA and UF are incredibly similar from an in-state talent perspective and a historical perspective, and UF is often cited as a top 2 job in CFB. UGA is a top tier coaching destination.

That is what I said, reread my post about him.

I won't argue with any of the top 6 or ND.
What exactly makes FSU or LSU ahead of us? And despite what you may thing, UF is a much better HC gig than LSU.

I'd like to know what puts Oklahoma in the top three?
Posted on 12/2/15 at 9:34 am to Carson123987
He could have easily jumped shite for a HC job in the last 3-4 seasons but was patient and scored a great job. Good for him.

the hire gives the UGA program a much needed shot in the arm. Young, hungry coach looking to prove himself at his alma mater.
Could end poorly, but its not like Richt has been tearing it up in an incredibly weak east as of late anyway

FSU is not better than UF or LSU.
They do not have the program support as the other two from either the school administration, alumni, or fans and the talent base is moot.

Even if Smart doesn't win enough games to keep his job, he'll continue program excitement and keep talent high. There's no chance the program gets hurt long term is basically what I'm saying so the risk is low.

Prestige mostly. On the face of it, UGA is a 10x better job than notre dame this decade, but they're still "Notre Dame" so just by default will always be a top gig. OU is historically one of the top 5 or 6 programs of all time, so they're just going to kinda be there.
I guess.

Certainly not Muschamp.
Muschamps problem was offense.
I don't see Smart making the same offensive blunders that Muschamp made. That'd actually be hard to do.
Mark Dantonio?
Jimbo Fisher?
Jim Mcelwain?
Damn,that was hard.
