Interesting

“Today, in Kentucky, the state Senate passed a bill by a unanimous 36-0 vote that will allow high school seniors to stay for another year of school and play sports.”

Who would want to play high school football when you’re in college or not in school?

I guess it’s an extra chance at tape for some

I love it.

Imagine waiting your whole life for your senior year of sports and then having it ripped away because some scummy politicians tried to weaponize a virus to do someone in politically

Good for those kids

Sounds like you’ll have to go back to school to do this based on the wording

College giving a year of extra eligibility is different, but I can’t imagine kids will voluntarily stay in high school for an extra year just so they can play their senior season.

A good player that wants to play in college but didn’t get to play this year or go to any camps to prove themselves

If I had a kid, I’d encourage juco sports or walk-on at a school.

You are talking maybe a 0.5% chance that someone has zero opportunities and all of a sudden gets full scholarships.

Guess that means KY teams will only play KY teams this season upcoming. Don’t think anyone else will be allowed to play against possibly overage kids

EDIT- ironically, John Curtis is playing Male HS from Louisville

Nothing wrong with this. Not many will use it, but if some players felt wronged then give them the opportunity.
And it's not just football, where you'd guess the main guys have been noticed. But for other sports, how many people explode from their jr to sr years in high school?

No this is wrong and I’m all for giving college kids an extra year.

But how does this work in the framework of high school curriculum? What classes are these kids that come back supposed to take? The kids at large schools can take other electives sure. What about kids in small arse communities that don’t have the same options? College you don’t have that same concern. Not to mention having a 19/20 year old competing against a 14 y/o just doesn’t seem right to me.
