He would not host SportsCenter. I guarantee you he would host his own commentary program. An OTL type show.

Oh god. Obermann debating skip and Stephen A on first take is making me nauseous just thinking about it.

Half baked comedy has made me barely watch SC as it is, if they add overcooked politics I'm done.

Can all of the people against Olbermann also post whether they are Democrat or Repub?
Why? It's way easier to pick out the flaming liberals on here who defend him.
I'm Independent. I think he was great back in the day. Not sure he would work anymore, but maybe if they give him his own show. If he starts with his political garbage, I hope they do a live execution.

Sportscenter was awesome when it was Olbermann and Patrick, but I don't see them being able to bring back the magic.

Hopefully this is one of those deals where Olbermann had an epiphany after his career failures, put his ego in check and realized he needs to get back to his roots. But I have my doubts that his ego would allow him to return to where he was 15 years ago.

Olbermann was a prick 15 years ago and I suspect he's a prick today. If he returns to ESPN I won't be a viewer.

Yeah, but methinks your judgment is a little clouded.

How so? I doubt that I'm the only poster that thinks he's a prick.

I hated the hiring of Rush as well.
When sports are transcendent (Jesse, Jackie, Lou, Miracle) it's mighty and it's meaningful.
When wingnut hacks try and inject an agenda to every other story it's nauseating, and there's enough other sources now to turn their "highlight show" off.

Keith olberman, Dan Patrick, and Craig kilborn were the high water mark for sportscenter.

No doubt.
Being an extremely biased, out of control a-hole has consequences.
