Of course he can do whats ever best for him. People get salty about it because we want our superstars to be alpha dogs who lead a team not guys who run to one of the greatest teams ever to chase a ring at such a young age. I figured this decision was going to be about three things. Loyalty to OKC which is strong but doesn't really mean much. Creating a legacy in Boston. He would have been a god there if he could have taken them to multiple titles. Or championships in GS.

GS is probably the surest bet so I guess that's what he valued more. Just makes him look like a follower and not a leader to a lot of people. People love leaders. They don't love followers. Especially in sports

People are criticizing a great player who looks like has to run to other great players and a great team to win a title. People killed Bron for it, so people should kill KD for it.

So people should just continue to be wrong going forward because they did something wrong in the past, is that your argument?

Will the MSB hate on him as much as Lebron? That's what I want to know.

Durant is guaranteed to opt out after next year so he'd literally make exactly the same amount of money with either team under this contract before taxes.

i could be wrong, but i don't think this applies to a 1-year deal

This move 100% makes sense in terms of KD putting himself in the best position. Anyone who gave LeBron even an ounce of shite about the decision though needs to give way more shite.

LeBron left a team where Mo Williams was the second best player on the team to join a team that would start James Jones his first year there.

KD is leaving a team with Russell Westbrook and now Victor Oladipo. A team that was very likely to be a top two or three contender. He is going to join an already stacked team just won 73 games (and a championship the year before).

I don't care about the decision, so I don't blame KD here. Anyone who did give LeBron shite though better be intellectually honest about how much worse this move is than what LeBron did.

The heat would continue to make the finals every year bc it's the east but would have never won it again with their roster.

And it works in the beginning but a few years in is when it is gonna start getting iffy. All matters if their owner is cool with paying a huge luxury tax every year and their current roster with KD meshes well.

I'm not saying GS isn't better and won't do good. I'm just discussing how issues are going to rise for them in the next couple of years and they will be losing some good role players. Luckily they have 4 all stars who will be locked up for a while if KD and Curry resign next year

Absolutely right. The logic behind this is sound. That won't change people's perception of him running the one of the best teams ever to ride their coattails to a ring.

To put it nicely, people are jealous and ask athletes to do things they'd never do in the same situations, so it's usually best to let those people's opinions go in 1 ear and out the other.

People can kill players for whatever they want. There is no wrong in that. Just because it's wrong to you doesn't make that a universal fact.

I doubt they give a frick about the luxury tax since they are printing money. The warriors are the team in Cali right now.

To put it plainly, the public doesn't care for people who look like they took the easy way out.
