Arrowhead is iconic but the location is complete shite
There is absolutely nothing around that area

Ultimately is probably good for them

Arrowhead is probably the most fan friendly stadium in professional sports. You can have a sold out game and from the time you leave your seat, get in your car and out on the highway is generally less 20-30 minutes.

Tailgating is 2nd to none and the parking lots are huge so there is no problem finding a place to setup.

Several callers today on local sports radio were already pledging their allegiance to the Bills.

Getting a Super Bowl or two is going to make it worth it. They’ll eventually host a Final Four in there too.

Every NFL stadium above the Mason-Dixon needs to be domed. Football games should be decided by competition between the two teams, not the weather.

The weather in KC in December and January can range from 10 degrees with blowing snow to sunny calm days with a high in the 50's to low 60's....it was around 60 degrees today.

A lot of fans are rightly pissed off at Hunt but it took the combined incompetence of KCMO mayor Quinton Lucas, Frank White and the Jackson County Sports Authority and to some degree the Republican governor and republican majority state legislature.....they all whiffed.

Whiffed on giving multi-billionaires taxpayer money to privatize gains?

I honestly wonder if Clark Hunt wouldn't have made a better move by moving the team out of the area if he was just looking for a few billion to build a new stadium. There are a lot of cities around the US with much deeper pockets than the KC metro who would have offered $3-4 billion to Clark Hunt.

I was a kid but can remember when the Truman Complex opened up and the (at the time) futuristic looking designs of the sports specific Arrowhead and Royals stadiums.

That was also during the height of the multi-purpose cookie cutter type stadiums in many cities so KC rolling out two separate stadiums was going against the grain.

No way of knowing at the time they were about 2 decades ahead of everyone else as team owners and cities eventually abandoned the multi-purpose concept to build their own sports specific stadiums.

I’ll miss both stadiums in KC and now I’m feeling a bit old.

These 2 look like a lesbian couple. Topeka is such a shithole too. Might be the worst state capital in the country.

You are playing the cards and not the players. If someplace in the Kansas City area doesn't do it a St. Louis, Portland, San Antonio, San Diego, etc. will. Chiefs fans should be thankful the players at the table were Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. Ask a St. Louis Rams fan how bad it could have ended.

Also don't confuse the rivalry between the universities of Kansas and Missouri with a rivalry between the states. I have spent a lot of time on both sides of the state line in Kansas City in my life and I have never had one person on either side care whether I was a Kansan or a Missourian. Both sides of the state line will gladly take money from people on the other side of the state line if those people want to give it to them.

Top Cities Without an NFL Team (by population)

San Antonio, Texas: The largest city in the U.S. without an NFL team, with over 1.4 million residents.

San Diego, California: Another major city with a large population (over 1.3 million) that lacks a team, part of the large San Diego-Tijuana metro area.

Austin, Texas: A rapidly growing city, also in Texas, with nearly a million people.

San Jose, California: A major city in the Bay Area without its own NFL franchise.

Columbus, Ohio: A large city and state capital without an NFL team.
Other Notable Areas

Portland, Oregon: A significant West Coast city lacking an NFL team, home to NBA and MLS teams.

Virginia: The most populous state without an NFL team, though the Washington Commanders' stadium plans could change this.

KCMO should have known what was coming when Kansas governor Laura Kelly and Kansas Dim congressman/woman Sharice Davids were riding in the Chiefs parade in 2024.

Cowboys would block it.

After the Chargers left they aren’t giving money to a rival.

49ers are right nearby.

Browns and Bengals would block it, plus too small.

Seahawks would block it.

MO residents have paid for the airport and much of the other infrastructure in the area plus most the ghettoness sucking from the tax payers, bout time the Johnson County folk front the bill for this.

For those who don't know, if you think Arrowhead is out of the way, the speed track where the new stadium will be is further from downtown and feels like it was plopped there bc it is next to the I70 and is cheap emptying land.

(if you know Houston, it would be like building a stadium by Katy Mills mall by the huge warehouses.)

People bitch that arrowhead is in a bad area but that area was just fine suburbs in the 70s when it was built, but has regressed.

There is no real entertainment around (which creates the tailgating culture) but the same thing applies by the speedway until they build generic corporate giant cheesy suburban bars/restaurants/hotels in the area to the delight of developers.

The Hunts do not even look like real people, something creepy about them.

Hold on now, my Packers will always play outside, and will always play in Lambeau on the frozen tundra. The ultimate cold weather team.
