This guy has been a head coach and assistant coach for about 3 years.

Since then I've been appointed as the commissioner of our league.

Last season he got on Facebook and was smoking weed. He wanted to head coach after that I let someone else do it. He was pissed about it but just figured it was because the other coach just had more experience.

Now, he's been arrested for domestic violence. Knowing his wife, I'm about 95% he's not guilty, regardless it looks really bad.

Needless to say, I had to call him and let him know he can't coach or even be on the field at all. He's not happy and was pissed. I can't understand how he's surprised by this.

Oh here's another shocker...I live in Florida.

I was just about to ask if you had ever told a parent that they're not allowed to coach or volunteer.

pretty sure smoking weed should be a requirement to coach youth.

This guy starts telling me how weed should be legal etc...I'm thinking, I agree.

But the lack of common sense not to smoke on facebook while friending little league facebook parents/grandparents blows my mind!!

Let me run this by you, my little boys t-ball league has been begging for another coach because they took on too many kids. They've sent a few emails asking for a parent to step up and in one of the emails they threatened our children would not move forward unless someone stepped up...is this SOP?

Define move forward?

How many coaches are each team? If no one comes forward I would break a few coaches apart.

We have that problem sometimes that coaches are friends and they like to head coach/assistant coach with each other and like to stay on one team.

It's a wonder I even have time for you all. With me having such a high-level volunteer position in a town of 6000 people

You care enough to take the time out of your day to tell me. I will for the life of me never understand this. But thanks.

Sounds like you did the right thing to me.

You also probably did the guy a favor. Sounds like there are more important elements of this guys life that’s he needs to be focusing on.

Sounds like a league with a bunch of parents who want a babysitter for a few hours a week.
