yeah, he supposedly destroyed the league for this gambling app. But it sounds like he will have a nice long legal battle on his hands.

Bright side, all team merch is now considered retro. Look 10x cooler.

Doesn't this go against the principle of fiduciary responsibility?

Bonus would be if the XFL was behind this.

Dang I really liked it before March. There is some down time here in the late winter/early spring because basketball has an awful regular season.

Dumdon will probably get sued over this.

I’d liken the AAF more to Pompeii than Rome tbh tbh tbh

So the guy just pissed away 70 million?

Something isn't adding up here. It's a private enterprise, but I would love to see their financials.

I put this in the other thread but will go ahead and put it here too.

One of the more attractive things about the league was the technology it developed with its app. It allowed for faster real-time technology to reach consumers and also tracked multiple biometric data points. The hope was that other leagues would see the technology and express interest in using it.

"I think what we're building on the tech side will change sports," Ebersol said in January. "If this company has a chance to survive, if the football is good enough that this has a runway where people are engaged, it will change sports."

At the time, Ebersol said he viewed his business as "a tech company that owns a football league."

This is where the XFL has them. Secure funding first.

The problem is they thought they had it secured through Dundon. I don't think they expected him to straight up lie to them in the vetting process about why he wanted into the league.

Also, looking into Dundon a little more, he has always been a scum bag.

Here's how he got rich in the first place.

quote:

He started over as a back-room finance associate at a used-car dealership, quickly figuring out that there was more money to be made in financing used cars than selling them – especially to people with bad credit. They could be charged high interest rates, but they’d still do whatever they could to make the payments, because if their cars were repossessed, they’d often lose their jobs. That kept default rates down. Dundon made millions.

Birmingham had a good run. One of the top teams in league history.

But I was told if there was no kneeling it would be a smashing success.
