Just remember that the fuking media finally got a playoff and then complained and pushed for needless expansion for a decade until it came true and ruined what was once the greatest sport in the world.

Now that there is a 12 team playoff the conference championship games should go away. It was an unnecessary money grab when the SEC started it and is no longer needed
A game like tonight wouldn’t be a championship game. It would be a playoff game.
It’s going to take about 2-3 years for people the realize the 12 team playoff will turn the most useless postseason in all of sports to, essentially, December madness

I mean keeping conference championship games in the new format is pretty retarded. This game was a de facto playoff game so just pretend it was a first or second rounder under the new system.

I wish we could have kept the BCS formula and the four premier BCS bowls and tie-ins, and then taken the top four left standing after bowl season

What we just watched was a default playoff game…which was why it was awesome. They’ll be more “real” playoff games next season. So while this game might mean “less” we’re getting a round of 5-12 playoff games and another round of those winners versus the top 4 teams that we don’t have this year.

Who gets into the playoff, who gets a top 4 seed for a bye, who gets a 5-8 seed to host the first round. Games will definitely matter.
