Ok

Ingram missing 4 games hurts more than Julio missing some camp time

Neither really matters that much

Do y’all really think Julio is willing to sit out 2 full years without pay?

I wonder if these guys know that they don't have to sign these contracts if they don't like the terms?

meh NFL teams don't have to honor the contracts so really can't blame guys for holding out

Nope. I'm not buying it.

Julio will likely still have another 1K receiving yard season.

If anything, this will give Calvin Ridley more reps in that offense.

If Julio wants more money, then he should stop disappearing in the fricking red zone.

I'm sure some of them know this. But I'm highly curious how their representation presents this to them.

FWIW, Jimmy Sexton is his agent.

This is pretty simple

When Julio signed, it made him right at the top in WR pay

Now, after the first 2 years of the contract, his output his still near the top, yet his pay is 9th

So, he believes an adjustment is needed to rectify that

You can damn sure believe if his performance was bad and not matching the contract on the other end of the spectrum, he would be cut by the falcons

So I dont see why people blame the players here

He needs to really show the Falcons he means business, sit out the year and show them good.

Because he still has a couple years here. He agreed to the terms. And his red zone numbers were terrible. He can't score worth a shite

How many NFL teams honor the life of the contracts the players sign?

It's an interesting dynamic for sure. I think it's as basic as fans see the players as nothing more than instruments for entertainment. When they hold out or don't play, the players hinder that entertainment and are viewed as overpaid primadonnas.

What makes it interesting is that by and large the average fan SHOULD relate more to and side with labor. But when it comes to sports they tend to side with management.

He was 14th in red zone targets last year with 19. Only had 5 catches and 1 touchdown.

However, out of good faith it seems the falcons may want to tweak the contract as julio is the 9th highest paid WR now in salary per year

so players should renegotiate their contracts on a yearly basis to make sure their pay ranking is commensurate with their abilities at their position? He's set to make 14.9MM this year, cry me a river.
