And since someone will ask: Knicks, Lakers, Mavericks, and maybe the Bulls. ETA, make that 4, maybe 5. I forgot about the Warriors.

I get the lakers knicks due to the market size, arenas, and media attention these receive, and I understand the historical impact they have had, but are the mavs, bulls, and warriors really in the same ball park as these first 2? I’d think the Celtics would be worth more due to the branding/history.

And the team he really wanted, the Dallas Cowboys, has done jack-all since.

Its probably a good deal IMO given the history of the team, location, and what teams are going for now. Team values will only rise barring some global catastrophe like another world war or something.

If the Cowboys are doing 800M in annual revenue, 6.5B makes sense seeing how exorbitant the TV contracts are. Wonder what their expenses are.

Why is this always speculated? Has he said he wants to lead an investment group? He's only worth about 250 million so he would need a majority investor, and really wouldn't be leading anything

The investor would be seeking profit/growth on his money. If he feels the best way is to make Peyton the face if the buying team by granting him more equity, that what he'll do.
