Because iHeart can apparently only afford 4 local hosts. And rather than pay for a national host broadcast, they can just simulcast that tool Innes.

Josh Innes is probably the worst guy in Houston Radio. Surprised they would broadcast him back to NOLA. I would think they would go with someone more national, why would they think his show would be relevant there. He makes no attempt to gear it towards Louisiana listeners as well.

I listened to josh when he started just for the car crash effect. Using his GF Jilly and his producer Jim Mudd to prop up the show, philly sports talk in Houston, fake beefs with other media, constantly talking about his dog, is a celestial radio Stern knockoff cliche.
He does some funny stuff with his gf when they talk about their regular lives but picking through the garbage to find one morsel of entertainment got old so I quit listening. Moving him to mornings made it that easier to move on. Mornings are Culotta and TBOB time

He views himself as some hilarious guy who gives these great pop culture bits. Problem is he is unfunny af and knows nothing about pop culture. He used to talk about shite like he couldn't date a girl if she couldn't quote Caddyshack, and I'm sure that's just something he heard another person say once.
This made up for him clearly never even watching sports until dad got him a sports radio job at 18.
He and Moscona would do a 5 minute long morning zoo bit where anytime they'd talk about southern, he'd purposely mispronounce their mascot's name mapumba instead if cocumba, moscona would correct him, then... get this he'd do it AGAIN. Over and over and over.
This made up for him clearly never even watching sports until dad got him a sports radio job at 18.

he does have the sports radio jock mechanics down, his show is actually pretty smooth in the nuts and bolts of its format and execution. He is surprisingly adept at handling callers. Too bad the callers in to all of the Houston sports shows are complete idiots.

Seeing how 790 is the flagship station for the Rockets, he got a lot of shite for that.
