So why not factor in the opportunity cost loss.
Is there any, really?
The QB market isn't exactly a fluid market, and FA is largely -EV. Which of their own guys did they lose to afford Love's deal?

What I mean is even if it levels out in 3 years, how many better players did they miss out signing in those 3 years that might have taken them to SB victory?
NFL titles aren't won in free agency, and what 3 guys could make up for a good/above-average QB? Guarantee you 3 guys on that level would cost more than the difference in Love's AAV and a mediocre market QB like Derek Carr or Baker Mayfield.

Pretty much is.

Contract extension doesn’t kick in until 2026 so check back in then.

Not true.

Depends on the players and positions. The money difference in say the 10th and 15th best MLB/FS isn’t as big as the money difference in the 1st and 10th best at those positions.
The QB market is a bit ridiculous but the WR market is by far the most ridiculous in the NFL followed by the edge market. Justin Jefferson is an elite wideout and certainly has a claim as the best in the NFL but his value does not warrant a $40 million AAV. No receiver adds that much value and they are even more a dime a dozen than RBs. If I’m building an offense, they are the last group I’m worrying about (other than FB).
