No shite, his post said that targeting doesn’t really exist in the NFL and it’s rare for players to get ejected. I was just adding to the conversation that multiple people have been ejected this year for helmet to helmet contact

Targeting does not exist in the NFL.

Brady would’ve slid 4 yards prior and snapped the ball for the next play
So NE would've gone for it on 4th down? He was fighting for a first down and was a defenseless ball carrier. The penalty would've been the same for anyone but the D is clearly more likely to head hunt when it's the QB, which is bullshite.

Seems pretty irrelevant to the point I was making. He would’ve been healthy is what I would’ve said. And yeah I could’ve seen then going for it on 4th there

Literally a paradox

Allen lowered HIS head, Jones did not

Except it's not. If a player is getting tackled and has his arms wrapped or can't protect himself you can't come in and blast him in the head. I mean, you can't do that ever, but it's not that difficult of a concept to grasp.

Well yeah you've gotta consider your audience.

Why should the NFL care? They should embrace the violence. Nobody cares about player safety (don't pretend you do).
I don’t give a frick about player safety. I had 8 concussions at least from middle school through college. I knew what I signed up for.
But the NFL does care because of lawsuits.

Except we didn't know back then what we now know about them. So that knowledge has created liability across the sport. And if that means teaching NFL players how to actually tackle correctly so be it.

Targeting may not exist, but that wasn’t your normal bang bang play type hit. Defender went straight for the head and it was intentional.

This. Allen was wrapped up and couldn't fend off Jones or stiff-arm him.

And the ref that neglected to call that targeting...

If that was Tom Brady, they would have taken him off in cuffs.
