With Mett out for the year with a broken ankle does Mike Singletary go ahead and put Manziel on the active roster this Sunday vs Birmingham? Memphis pretty much has to win out if they have any hope at making the playoffs. You'd have to think that there is no point in having Hackenberg on the active roster even as a backup b/c you just can't win with him.

Obviously the best thing for Manziel (and any QB that just joined a team) would be to sit and learn the new offense. Silvers played moderately well subbing in for Mett once he went down but seemed to tail off as the game went along. With Memphis needing a boost at the box office and their playoff hopes on life support Singletary might just decide to throw Johnny out there hoping for a spark.

Actually on quick passes Qb's don't use laces. They receive the snap and throw the ball.

Best thing for a one win team is to throw him in there and see if they can finally win another game

This league is supposed to be for sheer entertainment value. There's no reason not to throw him in there.

If you throw routes like slants, bubbles and quick hitches...you have no time to locate your fingers on the laces. Quarterbacks usually run drills that require you to throw the ball without laces

No you are wrong. Manziel has obviously played QB his whole life without learning how to grip a football.

He needs to start on Sunday to have any chance of salvaging the season but Mike Singletary is a little too old school for that. He strikes me as someone who'd start his kicker at QB over Johnny just because Johnny needs to earn it, etc...
