Curtis #1 in the nation in the following polls:

USA Today

Fox Sports Next

Prep Nation

#1 by MaxPreps (have to be a member to see)

Rivals.com

#2 Sports Illustrated
#3 ESPN

only team to hold the #1 spot in more than one poll

Karr and Neville would beat them this year.

John Curtis does not have the overall team speed to match up with Neville or Karr.

Curtis is probably the fastest team In the state.

are you two retarded? Curtis is the national champion according to rivals.com and #2 by USA Today.

I've had more than one New Orleans metro coach tell me Karr would beat Curtis this year. And I explored the Curtis hate angle and I explored the "You mean they are more talented, but JT would outcoach them angle."

Nope. Said, yeah they don't care for Curtis and JT, but that's nothing to do with it. And they said Juluke does better than people give him credit for. They are more than just a collection of studs, all things considered. They aren't quite as efficient as Curtis, but it's also not a K-12 school that's all about football all the time. Within that context, he's coached them up well.

Curtis is very good, but I don't know how you pick them as national champion over schools like Katy that play the competition week in and week out.

While Curtis was getting running clock against Springfield, a 2A school with 30 players, Katy plays Houston Metro schools with coaching staffs as large as Curtis, practice facilities better than any in Louisiana and a culture that gets the best athletes at schools larger than any in Louisiana out for football.

I don't know if Katy is as talented as Curtis, probably not, but I bet you there are a couple of teams in the playoff field (DeSoto comes to mind) that are and are no longer in the field.

its pretty subjective and has a lot to do with talent projections, coaching etc... That said, I have zero doubt Neville and Karr would get rolled by Curtis. Efficiency on both sides can't be matched by those teams.

I would never bet against Curtis if for nothing else than the edge they always seem to have on special teams. They probably spend more time fine-tuning special teams than most teams practice, or are allowed to practice, period

Like I said on another thread, Curtis is like a football-only IMG that prepares its players for a future running the Houston veer.

basically it's between Curtis, Katy, TX; Allen, TX (they get what they pay for ); Norcross, GA, and De La Salle, CA

Katy and Allen still have to win Texas 5A state titles this week...

i'd go with the GA team who went 16-0 through a loaded playoff bracket
