You're doing a lot to enhance the image of Bama fans.

You really are a dumb frick. Joe Pa knew what Sandusky was while he was coming and going with little boys from Penn State's facilities. It was an ongoing problem that Joe Pa allowed to happen. OK, he reported it. Nothing happened. Fine. But, Penn State was Joe Pa's world. He controlled it. He doesn't want Sandusky around and Sandusky doesn't come around. That's fact.

No you're the dumb frick.

I was talking about in the sense that nobody outside of Penn State and maybe northeast Pennsylvania knew Jerry Sandusky existed before this blew up in the past few months.

I took issue with what the other poster was saying that he was a known sex offender. Because that would mean that everybody knew who he was and people would know about him because he was on the registry. Not to mention that he would be on the news as well.

Before all this happened, very few people had even the slightest idea this kind of stuff went on at Penn State.

Yea, even though he was banned from bringing kids to facilities after the incident, as reported by severa; media tabloids on this subject, it does little to mask the fact that his moves were retroactively wrong and will be brought into question by the public's superior abilty of hindsight FORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

Only read the first page of this thread, but...

MY OH MY at the people that judge. To each his own, but I believe that is God's job and His alone.

RIP Joe

His legacy and legend is rightfully tarnished and broken.

His actions, which enabled a child rapist, were cowardly.

Joe Paterno is dead. My condolences to his family.

But I do not praise him and I do not mourn him.

the only one I see on a high horse the last three pages is you lecturing the fricking thread ... find someone celebrating his death in the thread (they are all over this thing) and post that shite to them .. how fricking hard is that to do ? go post your novels to someone else, Margaret Mitchell ..

He's a disgrace, and those that speak of him football accomplishments arent much better. Hitler and Hussein probably had a few good qualities as well.

I'd like to know if anyone posting in this thread, defending JoePa's position has kids...

I can't imagine anyone trusting their kid's "well-being" around an adult that other adults KNOW there's a pretty good chance he's getting molested... and not wanting to KILL SOMEONE. I'd want to strangle anyone who had knowledge, much less the power to do something to stop it.

If you don't have kids... I can see not understanding this.

that is why i say the age breakdown of those supporting paterno and apparently willing to cleanse his legacy in death are probably college age to mid 20s posters, while those not willing to forgive and forget are probably in their 30s and up ... the funny thing is that the younger generation supporting him never really even saw the guy at his best as a college coach and probably couldn't name five people that played for him ..

Coach Joe Paterno, the public figure and Joe Paterno, the man. He was very human after all. JoePa did some good things. He also did some wrong things (or tolerated them being done and looked the other way). Sins of commission and sins of omission are equally bad. But we're all guilty of some, so who around these parts can cast a first stone?

I'm sorry for what happened to the children. I'm sorry for the damage this has done to the memory of one of the giants of college football. I wish he would have done something about Sandusky while he could. But he didn't, and by his silent inaction somehow we're all diminished.

I think they've made their mind up based on some ginger who's changed his story several times
