They took wins away from Bowden for some academic issues. Joe Pa won't lose any wins, but it looks pretty stupid that they took some away from Bowden.

If you are going to give any sanctions, vacated wins should be the first and most obvious. Strip Paterno of his all time wins title. It's a title he would not have had he not hidden a child molester for over a decade.

Bowden's like 32 behind with 12 vacated.

Is it? I find that statement hard to believe.

Wikipedia (I know) has the top 5 as:

John Gagliardi - 484
Joe Paterno - 409
Eddie Robinson - 408
Bobby Bowden - 377
Bear Bryant - 323

Yep, that definitely was a competitive advantage for them.

He's not saying Joe Pa was a competitive advantage, but that he most likely would have "retired" in 1998 if not for the initial allegations being swept under the rug. Thus, he wouldn't lead the NCAA in wins.

Highly doubt any wins are vacated. Should OJ's rushing records be erased too? Just my 2 cents.

It's going to be interesting. I think wins should be vacated. Bowden had hs taken. This is a more serious issue. How many though? Back to 1998? Extreme but it's right.

And the last five years was nothing more than "Weekend at Bernie's" to protect the secret at Penn State.

2001-02 would be more likely. They had some bad years around then. The student section was chanting "We were...Penn State".
