Per Fanball.com:

"Coach Rex Ryan hinted that rookie Joe Mcknight will not make the team, according to Manish Mehta of the New York daily news.
Ryan said he was "dissappointed" in him and didnt see how he could make the active roster.

I thought he would have to go to a team with need for depth at tailback when he got drafted

After LT went there, NYJ wasn't the spot

I assume they were hoping McKnight would show indications of potential and that McKnight failed to do such.

He never showed up in shape to camp.

His own fault.

I guess going to the pros was an even bigger paycut for Joe than the Jets have suggested.

Over hyped! Hope he enjoys going back to Southern Cally and getting a real job. Maybe in broadcasting, oh wait, he did not finish school, that is right!

too bad for him - I don't have anything personal against him... worst thing he ever did was go to a school he wanted to play for

I'm sorry to see him fail

He doesn't seem to have his head on straight... he's wasting his talent but it's not too late to turn it around

All he had to do all of his life playing football is just show up, that shite will not work in the NFL. As we all know what the NFL stands for, Not For Long. That is how fast your career can last.

guy seems like a cancer/downer kind of guy. Not worth the risk considering he hasn't shown much anyway.

One position where SC's made a major upgrade is at RB

i couldn't believe how gassed he was on hard knocks after returning a 60 yard punt - dude looked like he wanted to keel over and die on the sidelines with his oxygen mask - meanwhile rex ryan was laughing at him

He should be playing WR like many people said back when he came out of HS. He's too soft to play RB...gets injured and fumbles constantly.
