By the way, it should be noted who has mentioned race in this issue, and it wasn't Jackson...

true, I'll bet JJ is not even aware that Michael Vick is an African American.

And you guys are such wonderful human beings for calling for Jackson's death.

honestly though, this guy was once the most exciting player in the NFL, he's been through hell and paid his dues, frick Jackson, I could care less what he says, but why the sudden cold shoulder for Vick? I don't get that.

I'm pro vick, but the last thing he needs is Jesse to get involved.

Best term for a guy like him. Or "race pimp".

He's got a potential five week suspension to start the season, most teams already have their #1,#2, and #3 qbs on their rosters at this point. The ones who have question marks at #2 and #3 will want to see a couple of preseason games in order to evaluate whether or not they need to consider looking at Vick.

It's really that simple.

well, Goodell is wrong for wanting to continue or furthur this man's punishment with a proposed suspension, but I've already been down this road. Vick is better than any of these teams #2 or #3, point in case, better than anything the Redskins have, he would automatically make them a playoff contender.

True, but that's where the bad PR comes in. If he could throw a football he might be worth it. But why take the PR hit so he can hold a clipboard?

Granted, I think that Rev. Jackson is a blowhard on domestic issues, but to call him a racist or a piece of shite is out of line.

Well, this may not fall under the exact definition of racist, but let's not act like Jackson is an equal opportunity kinda guy.

quote:

Jackson referred to Jews as "Hymies" and to New York City as "Hymietown" in January 1984 during a conversation with Washington Post reporter Milton Coleman. Jackson at first denied the remarks, then accused Jews of conspiring to defeat him. When he finally did acknowledge that it was wrong to use the term, he said he did so in private to a reporter.[29] Finally, Jackson apologized during a speech before national Jewish leaders in a Manchester, New Hampshire synagogue, but continuing suspicions have led to an enduring split between Jackson and many Jews.[29]

Among Jackson's other remarks were that Richard Nixon was less attentive to poverty in the U.S. because "four out of five [of Nixon's top advisors] are German Jews and their priorities are on Europe and Asia"; that he was "sick and tired of hearing about the Holocaust"; and that there are "very few Jewish reporters that have the capacity to be objective about Arab affairs".

Yea, it's taken from Wiki, and no I don't feel like double checking for a 2nd source.

No, Jackson is not a racist. He's an opportunist. I seriously doubt that Jesse Jackson hates white people.

Well, he certainly hates Jews, so we do see that he is capable of hating a certain segment of people based on religion, so I dont think it's ALL that farfetched.

He was a fry cook in the South during Segregated times. He grew up in South Carolina, where he and his family went through a lot of shite at the hands of white people. At that time, his only way of retaliating was that small rebellion.

You have to take those circumstances into account.

If you think that makes Jackson a racist, then every Black person who grew up or lived during segregation should be considered racist in your eyes.

There's no excuse for racism. NONE!!!

And if you can excuse Jackson, then you have to excuse the white racists during segregation because there fathers and there fathers' fathers all grew up and were taught from the day they were born that blacks were inferior.

So, if you're gonna excuse Jackson, all those white folks back in the day should be excused too, right?

Of course you do. The man is keeping a black man down. Because America is a racist society full of black hating whites. The President is an exception. Hes half white so America was less hesitant to vote for him. Had he been fully black they McCain would be president.

Because hes black. Duh.

Of course not, they are not going to be against you. They are less likely to come extort you.

Thank you. I don't know of ANY young blacks that like or even talk about Jesse or AL. shite a lot of whites seem to think we all love Jesse and Al. It's not our fault the LIBERAL MEDIA puts them on every time a racial issue arise. Not our fault the papers interview them EVERY time a racial issue arises. You wanna know why they do that? It's because they gets more readers, listeners, watchers and more people riled up and angry, just look at this thread and it proves my point. Too bad some people can't figure that out.

People always say Jesse and Al pops up every time something racial comes up, to me it seems like the media rushes to interview them. They don't have to put them on TV or write what they say in the papers. There's PLENTY of blacks they can go out and find to interview besides the two of them.
