Rip. Don’t know how accurate his portrayal in Winning Time was but he was a fascinating character

Never did like the Lakers growing up but he was still one of my favorites.

The logo was named the NBA Finals MVP in 1969 in a losing effort. That's how good he was.

It's never happened since.

RIP to the Logo Legend. At least he won't have to see the Celtics win another championship.

On July 11, 1996, Jerry West traded Vlade Divac for Kobe Bryant.

On July 18, 1996, Jerry West signed Shaq as a free agent.

Perhaps the greatest week any sports executive has ever had.

I still remember how distraught he was when Kobe died. Makes me sad

West was just as fiery as the Celtics coach, which led to an interesting phone call between the two while Mazzulla was going through some struggles with the Mountaineers.

"My junior year in college, wasn't living up to anyone's standards. I got a call. It's Jerry. A lot of expletives, but he basically told me I was an F-up and had the opportunity to be great at something," Mazzulla recalled. "Just let me have it for like 10, 15 minutes. I thought it was one of the most impactful phone calls that I had really in my life."
