Unfortunate news to share as former Kentucky quarterback and fan favorite Jared Lorenzen has apparently been taken to the hospital. Lorenzen had to be hospitalized due to an infection. This news comes from Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones, who got the information from Lorenzen’s mother. Lorenzen’s mother has asked for Big Blue Nation for their prayers.

The pair, shown here taking the field Feb. 3, 2008, at Super Bowl XLII at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., had both been with the Giants since 2004. He is just a man with large genetics and they wont be kind to him as he ages. Hope it all turns out well.

Wasn’t he recently on some kind of weight loss journey and then stalled out?

I believe so, I used to see updates all the time but I haven't seen any in a while. He initially lost 100 pounds but he was up to 500 before that.

I wasn't sure if you were serious so I looked it up and no shite he attended LSU in early to mid 80s. Says he was on the football team as a DL after they cut the wrestling program. Also played for the rugby club at LSU and was a bouncer at a bar in Baton Rouge, but didn't specify which one.

I disagree. He had good quarterback instincts and was a good leader.

Absolutely wrong

The fact that he stuck around in the NFL for several years, as big as he was, goes to show just how good a QB he was.

Get well soon, Jared.

He gets crapped on for calling that TO too early in the Bluegrass Miracle game...but he did a great job to rally UK back in the second half.

That 6 overtime game between Arkansas and Kentucky with him was entertaining as heck. Loved watching people bounce off of him, pray he’s ok.
