Free agent Jahvid Best is suing the NFL, alleging the league "knew about the risks of head injuries suffered by players, but didn’t do enough to protect them." Best is also suing helmet-maker Riddell. Best suffered three-known concussions during his two-year NFL career, the last of which ostensibly ended his playing days in October 2011. The suit is a clear sign he's officially given up on playing again even though he's only 24. A Cal graduate, Best is joining the Golden Bears' coaching staff for 2014.

One of the concussions he suffered while at Cal was one of the most frightening football injuries I've ever seen. He got catapulted into the air and landed on his head. I'm too lazy to look up the link.

first thought when I saw the headline.

Guess he doesn't want to go after the hand that's feeding him now.

What more would Mr. Best like the league to do to "protect" him?

That'll be the reason his case gets laughed out of court.

He displayed the involuntary "fencing reflex". Anytime that happens, it's scary.

Give him money.

This is really pretty pathetic. The NFL actually did a lot more to protect him from any further brain damage than a lot of players. They didn't let him continue playing.

"Hey man, you come to Cal, well get you in the NFL, we have great history getting RBs drafted. And once you get drafted it doesnt matter what happens, if you flame out you can just sue the league for one last paycheck"

Is that the one that he puked after? I remember him puking after getting hit once. They zoomed in on his face as he was on the ground when he did it.

Anybody who entered the league in 2010 and wasn't aware playing football could cause head injuries
