Better 10 and 20 yard split, 3 cone, shuttle and vert numbers than a guy like Aaron Hernandez at a very similar size. Played physical and loved contact. Would he have to learn the nuances of the position? Absolutely. But in his athletic prime he would have been a great fit for the position from an athleticism and tools standpoint if he wanted to do it. Absolutely worth a roster spot to see if it works out back then.

I think he will do great. If anything, a leader of men.

Will he stand for the anthem?

Huh?

How many 6'3" 236 lb combine guys have these numbers:

4.71 forty

38.5 vert

4.17 twenty yd shuttle

6.66 three cone

He was in the 90th percentile for TE metrics....

Yep. I think people underrate how athletic Tebow was because he was rarely in space. It may have taken a year or two for him to learn the position but he had that time athletically at 25 or so years old. He at least would have extended his NFL career by another 5-6 years I think and held down a roster spot.

Jimmy Graham and Gates went from not knowing football at all really to being TE elite

Its mainly a positions purely based on size and athleticism. Tebow would have excelled

Here come the usual suspects

Maybe Colin Kaepernick should have changed his position to tight end.

There’s no way you can tell me that Tim Tebow deserves to be on a team as an unproven tight end who hasn’t played in 9 years more than Colin Kaepernick. There’s just no way that’s gonna make sense.

I mean he's still been athletically training because of baseball,

has he? Tebow got hurt and missed the end of the 2019 baseball season, didn't have a season in 2020, and then retired. I think he's still training by looking at him, but I don't think it's because of baseball.

Hard Knocks is now trending. That would be pretty good this year

They’d have to volunteer. Teams with first year coaches get to refuse it

Since you brought up hard knocks, what will be interesting, if the Pats miss the playoffs again, they wouldn’t be able to say no to hard knocks next season and you know the NFL would make them do it just to take advantage. Unless Kraft just went frick off and made it not happen

What about all the guys who tried and looked completely lost or never made it out of camps?

It’s obviously more than that, otherwise we’d have more than 4 really good ones at a time

Look I think hardcore religious people are pretty weird but Tebow has never done something like this or preached to anyone that didn’t want to hear it. He talks about his relationship with God and thanks him but he has never done something even remotely similar to what you said as far as I know

Atheist Dems think mentioning “God” in anything is preaching to them.

I’ve always said that Tebow is a jack of all trades, master of none (at least at a professional level). He’s got the physical/athletic gifts and work ethic to probably be a fringe pro player in basically any sport he chose, but he lacks elite skill in any one specialized area.

Which is why TE is perfect

It isnt really a "skill position"

Be really big, really fast, and physical

Not many humans have all three of those. He does
