I'm still trying to figure out why there actually is even a melt by these people over a team that has nothing to do with LSU losing and I graduated from LSU.

I definitely get the hate for LSU fans, but I would argue “soft” would be fans running a message board like Tidefans. They literally can not handle any dissenting opinions, at all. It is a website created as a safe space so some Bama fans don’t have to face any argument or teasing from all the other meanies from other teams.

TideFans.com literally banned LSU fans from their website for a decade over the regular season 9-6 loss in 2011
