I think his amazing home run derby was the direct cause of this turn around. What a performance he had in the final round that night to overcome Kyle Schwarber

HRs, RBIs and runs scored still matter. What does it matter if youre on base if you dont score? It doesnt. All stats are only as good as the person interpreting them. All mislead and can be construed to fit the argument of the person making the argument.

Sure, they matter for the team. But they are a poor way to judge individual performance. It is way too context dependent.
