Are you chomping at the bit to return to Bryce?

We have more pressing issues here!

Plus, I gave my take on Harper, go reply to it if you want to focus on the original thread premise.

If you're going to be the best, or one of the best 3 players in the league, shouldn't you be putting up his post All Star break numbers all year, and not just for a half a season?

He's 15th in OPS for the season, and he's not really close to the top 3 or so hitters in the league. let's take a step back before we crown him for doing for a half a season what his true peers have been doing all season.

If you want to crown him, then crown his azz. But he is who we thought he were. And we let him off the hook.

Baseball is a streaky game. Go check out the potential mvp winners 1st half. Certainly wasn’t one of the best 3 players in the NL yet he’s going to sit on top when it’s said & done

Only 15th huh? Lol. Without even looking most of that list will be bunched up & separated by mere percentage points. Prob a HR or 2 from jumping 10 spots

while playing out the string... shows how meaningless plain numbers are

When it's not something that guys can recreate every year(it's random), the question is valid, why do we actually have RISP stats?
???? For elite hitters RBIs are not any more or less "recreateable" than any other stat.

Over the past three seasons Albert Pujols has batted one more time than Mike Trout. Mike Trout has hit .312/.448/.599. Albert Pujols has hit .252/.300/.419. Albert Pujols has 35 more RBIs than Mike Trout over that period.

If that doesn’t show the absurdity of thinking RBIs can be used to show how good a player is, I don’t know what can.
