The pushback among HOFers is real.

Over the last two years they voiced their opinions that they're tired of it becoming the " Hall of Good" that's why Eli isn't in. Nor should he rationally ever be. But he played in New York and will eventually get the nod like Joe Namath.

i think Eli, Rivers, and Roethlisburger will all get in at some point. Making the 2004 draft a 3 HOF QB draft similar to 1983 . All good QBs but none in the same league as the '83 draft that had Marino, Elway, and Kelly.

I don't consider him an HOF QB now nor will I 20 years from now.

No, Jay Cutler was a better qb if we’re being honest. That’s probably a hot take but whatever. I thought Jay was definitely the more talented player.

I'd counter with Russell WIlson

Wilson has been to 10 pro bowls to Eli's 4. He has an All-Pro teams appearance. Eli has zero. Wilson has finished top 5 for OPOY 4 times to Eli's zero.

Wilson very well could pass Eli's career passing yards mark in 2-3 years and is only 16 TDs shy of Eli's TDs mark right now. He's thrown ~130 fewer INTs. He also has a Super Bowl to his resume.

Is anyone going to argue Wilson should be in the HOF? My guess is no.

Everyone would agree that the HoF should be for truly elite players. Everyone agrees Eli was no where near elite. Yet, somehow, he will end up in the HoF

Why would he be in the HOF. Never garner one vote for MVP. Was never a Super Bowl MVP. Never was top seven in passer rating the entire time he was in the league. Stats are not jaw dropping

People have debated whether he's a hall of famer for like a decade then he doesn't get in first ballot and people act like he's snubbed. Kuechly, the only year he wasn't all-pro was his rookie year when he won defensive rookie of the year, got snubbed

Keeping a 2 time super bowl winning QB out is retarded, especially considering the number of marginal dudes already in, even without titles.

Against a Saints defense that was dead last in team defense in 2015

The Giants defense was equally just as bad that year. They gave up the most passing yards.

I read somewhere that even if Eli would have won a 3rd Super Bowl, he wouldn't have gotten on first ballot. Troy Aikman did.

I think Eli eventually gets in but he will have to wait a while. Brees and Fitzgerald are locks next year, Gronk and Adrian Peterson in 2026, Brady and Watt in 2027.

Eli was MVP in both Super Bowls.

No way did he deserve it in the first one. He didn't play that well but they weren't going to give it to the Giants' D line, who really won the game.

Justin Tuck had 2 sacks and a forced fumble in the 1st SB. He had a legit argument for mvp. He also had 2 sacks in the 2nd Superbowl. Unlike Eli he was an allpro in his career. If beating the Pats for the title is the bar, Tuck been getting snubbed since 2020.

He still won MVP in both Super Bowls.

I think Eli is deserving. Maybe he didn’t have the “reputation” like ARod and Brees but at the end of the day he has 2 SB wins. How many QBs out there can make that claim to have won more than 1? He was an Ironman and finished his career top 10 in passing yards. HOF career without a doubt.

Pretty ridiculous how much credit he gets for that SB win and how little credit the Giants defense gets in comparison.

The Patriots defense gave up 17 ppg that season. Eli led his team to 17 points. So an average performance.

The Patriots offense avg 34.5 ppg. Tuck and that defense held them to 14. Literally the Patriot's 2nd worse offensive performance in terms of ypp and the ONLY time all season they scored under 20 points.

Everyone has also forgotten Eli LED the league in INTs that same season to the point where a lot of NYG fans and media pundits were questioning if he was the right QB for them. He also almost threw a potential game losing INT before the helmet catch. A catch that was lucky as hell and a horrible throw.

Maybe the most prime example of QBs getting too much recognition for SB wins. He deserves credit for that 2011 win, but that 2007 one is way un-deserved.

This just means that Ben Roethlisberger won't be in first ballot either. The argument was Eli doesn't have any All Pro's or league MVP awards. Neither does Big Ben. Plus, the whole sexual assault allegations.
