Multiple @NFL sources indicate to me that Derek Carr is a hot commodity. And it is expected that multiple teams will pursue him via trade That could lead to the @Raiders pursuing Deshaun Watson in a blockbuster trade. My story:

quote:

Derek Carr’s outstanding season has made him a sought-after commodity for teams in need of a quarterback and could open the door for the Raiders to pursue Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The Raiders obviously are not tipping their hand about any offseason moves. But several NFL insiders expect the Raiders to field calls from teams inquiring about Carr’s availability.

Full circle for the Texans is trading Watson for David Carr’s younger brother

It would. The question is would Watson want to go there.

The article says the Raiders trade Carr for two firsts and then package those with two of their own for Deshaun. I just don’t know who would trade two firsts for Carr.

Deshaun would definitely accept a trade there. Solid foundation right now, and he could make the AFC West ridiculously fun with Mahomes and Herbert.

Yeah that seems like an insane return for a guy the raiders have been begging to replace for a couple years now

He was better last year but not to the point where you are going to go all in on Derek Carr as your franchise.

Two firsts is too much for him, but I think teams would throw out one. I think the colts or Panthers would do it.

I could see a one and a starter for Carr.

Not an elite starter but an OL of DL mid grade starter.

Somebody's fibbing because that's not how it works with starting QBs.

Ehh. They gonna try to play this off when everybody knew Gruden would get bored with Carr, like he always does with his QBs, as soon as he was hired?

I agree with this. Colts probably make the most sense, but I thought maybe Panthers as well. Just think that’s too high of a pick for Carr.

Four first round draft picks for Watson? How many first round picks would Mahomes get? Ten? Watson is good but he is not worth giving up four first round picks to get. Especially given the possiblity of a shrinking salary cap. How could a team afford his contract while simultaneously giving up four players who would be on rookie contracts? Right now there are only two players in the league I would even think about giving four first round draft picks up for-Mahomes and Aaron Donald.

Carr would be an immediate improvement for Washington. If they had him last year I think there’s a legit shot they end up with around 10-11 wins instead of 7.

I wouldn’t want to give up 2 1sts though.

Just address the fricking defense. What does it matter if it's Carr or Watson sitting on the sideline late in a game as the defense blows the lead they just gave them?

Exactly. Carr is a really good qb. If we had a defense worth a shite we would have been in the playoffs. Grudens play calling is terrible at times as well

I’d like to see care in San Francisco. Little is good but damn with cart targeting him like he did Walker.

I believe Carr could be the QB if no Rodgers that would help them win the SB

Carr
Mostert
Wilson
Ayuik
Deebo
Kittle

Trading Derek Carr away, and possibly replacing him with Marcus Mariota, in hopes of getting Deshaun Watson doesn’t sound very good considering your defense is still really bad.

Matthew Stafford just got traded for a haul. Deshaun Watson will take even more.

I’ve jokingly stated Denver needs to attempt a trade for him, but it still seems too costly.

If you “even think” about giving up 3 firsts for Donald you are insane. He’s incredible but he’s still a DT that will turn 30 next season.
