Okay so if I ask you "what would you rather have - 10,000,000 shares of Wal-Mart or $1000" you'd take the $1000.

Because "today" the $1000 would do you more good than 10,000,000 shares of Wal-Mart stock. You can't buy anything with 10,000,000 shares of Wal-Mart stock - it would take at least 5 days to liquidize any of that asset.

I just figured that inherent in the question was the QB's age, salaries, etc. Of course you'd take a 25 year old Pro Bowl QB making $5 million dollars over a 38 year old Pro Bowl QB making $13 million dollars.

You guys are some literal mother frickers. Sheesh.

Cutler had the 16th best passer rating in the NFL last year

SHAUN HILL had a higher passer rating. DO you even know who that is?

Other "young" guys, since u want to limit it:

Rivers -1st
Rodgers-6th
Schaub-7th
Romo-8th
Cassell-10
Ryan-11t
Eli-14th

That's such bullshite. Go quote some PER too while you're at it.

Elway never had good QB ratings and neither does Roethlisburger or Eli. In fact, most of the QB's on that list didn't make the playoffs.

Comparing fricking shares in a large corporation to winning 20 fricking football games in 1 year for a ring is apples and oranges.

Any one of those qb's listed give you a chance to win a superbowl NEXT YEAR. And in the NFL the NEXT YEAR IS ALL THAT MATTERS...

Worst comparison ever.

Who in the entire NFL would you take over Cutler?

Matt Ryan - probably
Drew Brees - probably, but Drew is 5 years older
Eli Manning - I'd take Cutler to be honest
Phil Rivers - I'd take Cutler to be honest
Tom Brady - 6 years older, huge injury concerns
Peyton Manning - too old
Carson Palmer - LOL.
Aaron Rodgers - possibly. I still like Cutler more.

wow

I'm clearly in the vast minority here. I am surprised - I thought it would be close to 50/50.

I guess I'll just say that my opinion is out there for now. We'll see in the coming years though, I firmly believe Cutler is a perennial Pro Bowler and will win a Super Bowl if he's put in the right situation.

i'm more confused on how you thought saying someone is a top 5 QB right now is the same as who would you start your franchise with for the future.

Ahh, of course its bullshite.

QB rating is a pretty well rounded stat. It just doesnt back up what u are saying, so its bullshite

Rothlisberger has had a top 3 QB rating in 2 of the last 4 seasons dude.

Elway was top 5 in the league in pass rating when he was in his prime for about 6 straight years

I appreciate that. Apparently I am just dead wrong on this. I'm willing to accept that possibility. The thing I will say though is that Denver had one of the worst defenses in NFL history last season. Saying that Cutler sucks because his career record is 17-20 is like saying that Archie Manning sucked.

And I honestly believe that my question naturally implied ALL factors of a Quarterback (age, salary, injury history, etc). But obviously most people didn't see it that way, so I'll have to assume this was my fault as well. Next time I will be sure to do a better job of specifying this.

specific example is the game(i forget against who) where they refs blew the call and gave the Bronco's the game. Cutler lost that game like 3 different times that night

And they probably wouldn't have been in the game if it weren't for him making plays down the field either

If Favre had the exact same season that Cutler had everyone would be talking about how awesome of a season it was and they'd forgive the anti-clutch plays

Most "clutch" QBs play on teams with good defenses and can afford to play it closer to the vest. Cutler had to take chances to win games.

Alexander in Houston continues to impress me with his retardation. And awesome comparison with the Wal Mart shite homes.

Cutler is a loser. He was in college and he is in the NFL. Talking about he has a better arm than Elway, what an idiot.

that was pretty douche-like. dude doesn't even have the strongest arm in his own division, much less the entire league

Ugly first half. Very ugly. But it is the Clips, we can go on a 20-0 run at any time. I hope.

huh?

no way

Favre had some seasons where he made a lot of mistakes, but he got a pass because of all the great, efficient seasons he had in the mid 90's. But even when he was playing "bad", the Packers were still a good team.

That's the only reason he got praise: because he was the best QB in the league for 5 seasons. Cutler isnt there, and prob will never be there

I'd take a healthy Brady, Manning, Brees, Ryan, McNabb, Roethlisberger, Warner, and maybe Eli Manning over him right now.
