Is Wilcher at Mangham really that good of a coach?

I remember they were always overachieving despite being 1A in baseball back in the day, but then he switched to softball to coach his daughter, and they won twice since.

Absolutely. If he were at a school that had consistent talent, that man would win at whatever sport he wanted to coach. I played for him in baseball my first two years in high school and he took a team that never done anything growing up in all star tournaments, added in Ridge Heisler from West Monroe and lost in the semis and then won a state championship. The year after, he took over the softball program that was really kind of irrelevant and started winning state championships. Scott Wilcher, in my mind, is the best coach the state has never heard of.

High school baseball and softball? You realize any booger eater with one pitcher can win at that level, right?

Did you graduate in 2015?

Yeah, doubt that. St. Charles made the playoffs 30 years in a row, but never won until last year.

If you could put up with the $15,000 salary, you could win in 1A.

Nice. Doesn't seem like baseball has seen the same success since he switched. My high school team watched them go up against Randy Zeigler and Calvary in 2007. Real scrappy bunch Mangham had, almost beat him.

That dude hit a bomb against my team my freshman year that I swear, to this day, still hasn't landed.

I think he's pointing out the sheer ridiculousness of talking about high school sports online when the only people who care are the parents and grandparents of the players.

he’s doing a bit. I just enjoy pointing it out

He’s a hell of a coach. His practice format gets them so prepared. They Waste zero time at practice and get more out of two hours than most do in 4.

Exactly. Thinking Wilcher is just a phenomenal coach.

So does every other decent coach in America.

Not any coach can win titles at a school in a VILLAGE lol.

So were talking class B or 1A? Yeah, it takes a genius to win at that level. One pitcher. Only two kinds of people watch high school sports. Parents of players and Peter Pans that never want to grow up
