I don't think he's a great coach but the dude has a ring on his resume and multiple seasons of winning, which is better than like 95% of the coaches in the league.
Plus, they're asking him to save a crumbling organization.

He’s still owed 10 million from Cle. He was only there for the duration of LBJ and the Lakers wanted him to have Kidd on his staff.

He was only offered 3 years 18 mill instead of the norm 5 years 25 mill. Also, lakers wanted to choose some of his assistants.

Never before has someone gotten so much run out of an Andrew Bogut injury. Dude literally gets hurt all the time and Lue is the only person to make his career out of it.
