It definitely has the potential to be. There are some great college football matchups. Ryder Cup should be amazing. Multiple MLB playoff pushes will be going on. And the NFL has some good games on Sunday.

Have been saying this for a while. Even if they have to have it during this time of the year due to some agreement with the NBA, they should be doing everything they can to avoid Saturday & Sunday and have the games during the middle of the week.

But the absolute best time would have been right before, or during, preseason football. Now they are fighting with NFL season, big college weekends, MLB playoff push, then 1st round of playoffs. No one was watching before, but at the very least playoffs during the "dead period" could have generated some clicks

October is pretty widely recognized as the best month in sports. It's the only month that all 4 major US sports are played simultaneously (MLB playoffs, NFL, NBA, NHL) as well as college football. However, opening weekend of March Madness is the best weekend in sports. Period.

As a hardcore football guy, though, i scheduled my bachelor party for the weekend of Jan 8, 2026. College football playoff semi-finals that thursday and friday, followed by NFL wildcard playoff that saturday. Tough weekend to beat for football fans.
