Hypothetically, if notre dame could afford to fire Weis and hire Miles tomorrow, do you think they would do it?

No, they would go for a bunch of guys before him.

I really don't get this arguement when you look at Miles body of work for the last 5 years as a whole. Have we fallen greatly from where we were 5 years ago? No. We are still a top 10 team. We are on the verge of his 4th 10 win season in 5 years. And, in all honesty, if RP hadn't screwed up we would have 5 10 win seasons. Imagine where UF would be without Tebow. Do you think the only lose 1 game last year? Just look at other schools that lost a big time QB earlier than expected: USC and OU. Yeah I know USC's D is more of a problem probably, but Sanchez would be managing the game much better.
Does Les have flaws? Of course. But I think as tiger fans we are falling into the misconception that " the grass is greener on the other side." Yes we need to keep the pressure on Les when things aren't going great like last year and demand changes. And I agree Crowton needs to make some serious changes these last few games if he wants to keep his job. But Miles is safe for years to come unless he loses his next 3 games. But if he continues to average 10 win season, this discussion is a joke. If we make a change we will be the next Nebraska.

they generally have problems for 1 year
this is year 2, and we haven't recovered
plus our OL and DL are shite. these are mostly teh guys miles recruited and the guys his coordinators have developed

is an interesting question because I really don't think any BCS schools aside from Michigan for obvious reasons would have Miles high on their list if they were searching for a new HC and he was available.
Which... says a lot about Miles.

The Les Miles years seem very similar to Larry Coker's time at Miami

So this season is a failure because we lost by a few score to 2 of the top 3 teams in the nation? We are a top ten team. Stop predicting losses.

USC is going to be really bad next year. The only saving grace is the schedule is going to be a joke

you are the one who brought up RP and the effects of relying on a thug arse piece of shite
and we have lost to the only 2 teams with a pulse that we played. our schedule is horrible

meyer going to ND would be one of the worst decisions of all time

No they don't. There were 4 years between championships at LSU and Miles guided us for 3 years into that championship. Larry was no where near a championship in his 3rd year and certainly not looking for a 10+ win season at year 5.
ETA: my apologies. Coker was still putting out 9 win seasons in his 5th year.

oh yeah. entire secondary gone, which was already a mess. Still no linebackers and supposedly a lot of talk about an exodus of guys leaving early

it'll be weird seeing usc in a regular bowl game this year
