At least in the US, is there a pro sports bubble that will pop in 10-15 years? The NFL getting hammered with concussions and now getting heavily politicized. The MLB struggling to get 10k fans in some parks, fanbase growing old and struggling to draw in a younger crowd, the NBA seems to be doing well and just might be the biggest US sport in 10 years BUT it still faces what all the other sports are also facing...increasing salaries...can they keep up? MLB possibly looking at a $400 million player or maybe players. NFL will soon be paying QBs 40 million a year, NBA faced with super max contracts and ever-growing pleas to bite down on the luxury tax.

It just seems like this isn't sustainable. I'm not even getting into the college ranks where soon we'll have coaches making 20 million a year.

Football is being forced to evolve or face extinction regardless of fan support monetarily. It can't sustain the path and will either truly change how the game is played or go by the way of the dodo bird.

I figure it will lose a large part of the current fan base but will at least survive the crash.

As for the other sports, I don't see a problem. Basketball is ran by players talents alone almost and as long as great talent continues to evolve it will be fine going forward.

Baseball is about to expand and you are worried about it crashing? No partner it is fine.

the college football playoff will expand. It's all about the money.

they'll probably still have a shite ton bowl games too. Who wouldn't want to watch the Dollar General Bowl in mid-December and also have the option to flip over to the new 16 team playoff tourney that is carefully selected by the Committee?

if sports betting is authorized in more states I doubt people will suddenly lose interest. That would obviously go for the NBA and MLB as well.

I'm a huge baseball guy, like it more than any other sport...but it's fanbase is growing older and is not drawing in the younger crowd. So eventually it will be a problem.

People have been saying that about the Republican Party for years and they keep winning elections.

NFL had record revenues last year $14 Billion
Even though ratings were slightly down along with attendence.Still the #1 profissional sport league in the world
by a wide margin.

The concussion issue is a bigger long term concern

MLB had record revenues for the 15th straight year at
$10 billion Attendence is down so far this year but it's mainly due to horrible weather amd postponements earlier in the season.
The only team close to 10k is the Marlins.

It'll take A LOT of work to catch the NFL and MLB in terms of revenue. They seem to be the media darlings but
they're still a pretty distant 3rd but had a spike in ratings this year.

All the pro sports seem to be pretty healthy...I think MLB needs to come up with some type of hard cap to keep small market teams healthy.

Bruh. The Dodgers had 3.7 million people attand home games last year. The Cowboys had 700k. MLB is a cash cow.

I see your point. I'm not really sure how that came to transpire either.

I love baseball but find trying to stay involve over 100+ games and pitchers getting shelved; doping stories seemingly ever season; and injuries keeps me at bay until august.

NBA is similar during their regular season of 80+ games but their postseason is remarkable and drives ratings through the roof.

Legalized sports betting is going to make them exponentially more profitable than they already are.

Then streaming services will step in.Netflix is more valuable than Disney

And Amazon dwarfs both of em amd both have billions in cash reserves.

They still aren't going to get the same deals and revenue flows that all those cable subscriptions give.

How do you know? And in which sports?NFL just signed a huge Thursday Nt deal last year with Fox that also includes Amazon streaming.

And here's some other speculation about streaming and the future of CFB LINK
