He can be arrogant at times but he's pretty intelligent and backs up his opinions with facts. If this wasn't the case you wouldn't find him so annoying.

Max was really good on around the Horn and the show he did with the Sports writer on Fox(show sucked but they were good together).
But once that shite ended, he became a super snowflake to fit in at ESPN, now it seems like he's sold his soul to stay on there and will continue being woke, even though it's not a contingent on having a show.

If confined strictly to sports, once he decides on a whim to branch out to politics the facts and opinions are severely lacking

One of the smarter guys on TV.
You can watch his old boxing and local access experiences, and see he knows what he is about-- but he's also very cynical and very money oriented-- and is smart enough to know the formula is to be annoying and as 'controversial' as you can make yourself. Until it becomes a better money making proposition to do real reporting, expect him to laugh all the way to the bank.
