There is a lack of chest in the big 10, they are tired of getting their asses handed to them by the SEC....

I think it's about liability.

Schools don't want to risk a player contracting COVID and dying, because they would likely get their pants sued off. Even if they followed all proper safety measures.

Yeah it’s always rich to see a liberal whine about politics being injected into sports

I don't care about Trump, but all this shut down of football is ridiculous.....they are frickING over these kids and frickING with their economic futures.

Change my mind.

You know darn well such a waiver won't mean anything. There will be lawyers waiting to sue, and the school/conference would be dragged through the mud in court of public opinion.

I believe university presidents and ADs, no matter how much even those P5 programs need football to be played to get the revenue, are wanting to have to deal with such a situation.

Yes, it is almost a one in a million chance a top athlete would die of COVID, but I just don't think it's still something they want the possibility of at this time. Plus keep in mind, some of these athletes may have unknown underlying conditions that COVID could inflame. I just don't think the officials want that scrutiny on their schools should something disastrous happen.

No, but they made college football crumble. The SEC just made their schedule the day before the BIG did their cancel talks

Big Ten United asked for a banning of waivers. I hope they enjoy what they got.
