Is "Senior Night" a thing of the past in college sports?

With all the portal transfers and 5 for 5, what's the point?

I think it means more. These seniors have forgone lucrative professional careers because they love school so much. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.

Just look at all the guys who are coming back from the NFL for a 5th college season, just so they can experience the specialness of senior night again

literally teh same point that it's been since the concept existed...to honor the final year dudes as they take their home field for the last time in college.

Sure the makeup of what that kinda guy looks like is a lot different now, but mercenary transfers aren't ALL seniors. There are much more guys that have played there multiple years if not their whole career.

Ohio State is doing their senior night on the first game of the season to get it out of the way
