He's a little overrated, but Peterson is still so young in his career. Plenty of time to b considered an all-time great.

I'm more excited to see what a healthy Tyrann Mathieu does in the NFL

IDK i feel like it supports my claim that Sherman is considered the best when he only plays zone against second and third tier WRs.

Great numbers, but against weaker competition.

I bet you think Boise St should have a lot more BCS titles.

Also Pff actually proves you wrong TT. He has been a top 100 overall player in 3/4 years according to them.....

Also I'm glad this board holds PFF so highly. Russel Wilson is a top 20 overAll player...... Guess I was right about him

He has averaged out at being the 50.25th cornerback in the league during his 4 year career.

Overrated.

Why do you chose to ignore his overall football player ranking?

Because the OP was clearly talking about him being a cornerback.

Everyone acknowledges his superior ability in the return game.

As of now, yes. But that doesn't mean he's not a good player still. He's too inconsistent lately though, but when he's right he's a top CB in the game. Look at what he did vs Dez Bryant. Peterson has relied on his athletic ability and lacks technique and its showing.

But there's a difference in Peterson and Sherman and Haden. Age and athletic ability.

PP is 24 with as much athletic ability and talent as anyone in the league. Sherman is 26 and is athletically limited and is at his peak. Haden is 25 and is at his peak as well.

Peterson is nowhere near his peak or a finished product. Hes a hard worker and will get better. And that's the thing with PP. He's already a good CB, but has a lot of room left to improve and you can't say that about the other top CBs out there. When PP hits his peak, he will be the top CB in the NFL. He's just not there yet. But he will be there in a year or 2. And when he gets there, he will be playing the CB position at an extremely high level, an elite level.

But as of today, yea he's overrated. But he's nowhere near his peak.

Cornerback (outside): Patrick Peterson, Cardinals

It isn’t easy tracking the top receivers in this league. Or, at least, it shouldn’t be, but clearly Peterson didn’t get that memo, because he’s had no difficulty doing so. His consistent, shutdown play is something we don’t often witness.
They cant even put stats on that bad man cause he shuts the #1 down so much
