Is NBA Twitter the best cult in social media sports?

I've always thought they were interesting, they produce so many memes, they make things go viral, always in constant heated arguments.
Last night on Twitter, they got into a fight with Ariana Grande's fans on social media, if you don't know her she has 57 million followers on Twitter. Yesterday some NBA fan was hating on her new song, and she asked her followers to report and block him.
NBA Twitter decided to align and defend him, went head-on with her fan base to defend him on Twitter and looks like they might have won.

I just thought it was funny, NBA fan base is really different from the rest of sports, and it probably bodes well for the future if a good portion of their fan base has a good online presence.
