His QB throws for over 600 yards...and he's asked what did you think of your quarterback...
And Leach says, "well I think it was a good start but he's got to improve on some things."

Welcome to Pac12 football in the SEC.

Ed O: "We couldn't cover their receivers." This is DB U! fricking SEC lets the Pirate in Conference...should've kept him out. First day, he blows up the SEC. Most passing yards in the history of the SEC. Ah, but Big12/Pac12 football would never work in the SEC.

No I think Pelini made him look a lot more comfortable than he should have been

Costello will break his own record before the year is out.

He could set records that could never be broken if he doesn't get pulled. 700? 800 yards?

Anything is possible if his receivers get seperation like that and they play a close game to the end where he has to keep chucking it.

The better question is how many yards could you get in that offense?

I don’t think anyone ever said that, hence why leach is such a popular choice when there are openings.

People don’t believe those offenses can beat SEC teams regularly, and they’re right, mainly because they’re missing SEC caliber offensive players. When you pair leach with more talent, he will do similarly well. That being said, I don’t believe he’s got the guys at MSU to play this way consistently this season, but as he recruits more, he’ll be fine.

Exactly how would the SEC have kept him out?

Probably had more to do with Blo Pelini and LSU's depleted defense.

Oh they did

Even into 2018 when E was a huge OC failure with an elite QB

No, LSU is just overrated this year and didn't plan well enough for Leach.

Pelini had a terrible game plan and LSU’s defensive depth is putrid.

With that said.... usually Leachs teams really start taking off around year 3-4. And when they do, they’re damn good.

Someone quote me. Leach will be battling for the West by year 4. I think he’s that good. He’s won everywhere he’s been. I’m not saying he will the West while he’s there but he’s going to be in contention at some point. He will be more successful at Miss St than Jimbo Fisher at A&M, IMO

Leach has Washington St. ranked in the Top 10 in 2018 at one point. Texas Tech was a beast at his highest point there.

Again, he’s now in VERY fertile recruiting grounds and he’s going to be successful. In a COVID year, his first full season recruiting, he’s already got a 4* QB and 2-4* WR. Way ahead of where he’s ever been at WSU. Mullen proved that Miss St, as a program, can be as succesful. They were ranked #1 a short period of time not too long ago.

Leach will have the talent he’s rarely had. I’m interested in seeing what he can do with it.

What’s to say he’s not “battling for the West” THIS YEAR?

Only reason I don’t say that is because it’s a transition year. Along with COVID and the amount of players BAMA brought back, I just don’t see it happening.

Transition years are always the ones working out the kinks with new regimes.

Guys have shut leach down everywhere he’s been. Peterson annually dragged his nuts all over leach

WSU didn’t score more than 20 points in that game any of the leach years.

Washington also had boat loads better talent

Bama will beat Leach this year too. It's to be expected

Seems like it could be quite the equalizer this year, is I guess what I’m getting at. Could set up perfectly for someone like Leach and his scheme.

No, LSU just sucks without Joe Brady. They couldn’t keep a drive going.

Right...so did LSU. I’m just saying teams have stopped him in the past. TCU did it multiple times when he was at Tech with comparable talent. He’s only won 10 games twice in his career. He’s a very good coach but he’s been depantsed by teams before

THE LSU secondary is young 3 freshman and a flott who played some last season. Not evey team in the sec will be that bad on the back end.
Costello had 4 turnovers. Most quality teams would take advantage of that.
That being said only Bama and Florida looked good everone else was blah so maybe it could work except those 2 teams.
