Wait, doesn't that kill your argument. He's averaging 1,100 yards a year and 9 touchdowns - in a pass happy league! That is not HOF numbers, first ballot anyways.
But his consistency is impressive and I expect to continue. He’s continually putting up impressive numbers. I expected a slow down this year, I was wrong.

In 2022, 14 of the top-25 receivers in receiving yards were 25 or younger, while only six of them were between 28 and 30.
None were older than 30.

If the guy is still putting up 1000yd seasons & 10 TD seasons for a few more years, I don’t see an argument for keeping him out.

Curtis Martin is 6th all time in rushing and was not a first ballot HOF and he had way better numbers the Evans.

Exactly. He is hurt by this as now he is just a guy in that stack who did it longer, assuming he continues to do it 3-4 more years. Obviously, his argument is consistency.
His lack of postseason games, and big time postseason moments will hurt his chances, but If (big IF at his age) he can continue the 1000 yds per season streak for 3 more years, he is probably in. No way in hell is he first ballot though.

If he keeps it going for another 3-4 years he's a HOF lock but first ballot right now is a no chance. Only 4 Pro Bowls and 1 2nd team all pro. He needs to rack up more accolades on top of accumulating stats to be a first ballot.

Alright, I humbly concede first ballot. But HOF is in the table.

Yeah, he is currently the Ryan Tannehill of wide receivers. They are each 37th in all-time passing and receiving yards respectively. That might be a little harsh as he does have a ring.

37th all time all time means more at WR than it does QB. You have 2-3 guys that can rack up numbers on every team. Tannehill's career as a starter is almost over and Evans should have another 3-4 years at a high level.

the fact that the average 1000 whatever yards and isn’t an All Pro sure.
but Tyreek Hill has 5 1st team all pros. It’s not like it’s getting so spread around.
now all pro isn’t do all end all. Brees has 1 first team. 4 second team and is a lock.
but Evans doesn’t have insane stats. he has good stats.

You have to hate when someone on the internet asks for opinions, everyone gives the same opinion which the OP doesn’t like and the OP just tries to insult everyone because it wasn’t affirming their own opinion.
Anyway, Evans numbers are not as good as other people who are also not in the Hall of Fame. He’s getting old and will slow down and miss time with injuries. He doesn’t have a big time QB and isn’t in an explosive offense. Younger WRs will get bigger numbers with the increase in games and continual slant towards offense in the NFL. Mike Evans also has two suspensions and was arrested or questioned or involved in a night club fight a few years back.
All the above points to him not being in the Hall of Fame.

good possibility of 4-5 years playing at a high level.
playing 4-5 years at a high level at his position would not be the norm, at all

that's kind of the point. These volume stats aren't going to look as impressive when Evans is eligible for the HOF as they looked 10 years ago, which is why guys like Andre Johnson still haven't gotten in

No it doesn't. I'm comparing Evans (11K yards) to other WRs and Tannehill (33K yards) to other QB's.

Tannehill did come in the league two years prior to Evans, so that is a decent argument. However, no one in Evans era with similar stats is in the HOF. In fact you have to be his grandfathers age with similar stats to be in the HOF, so you are correct that he needs at least 3-4 moire years at a high level to be considered. With his build and not being as reliant on speed as other WR's, he does have a shot at it though.

Look at who the first ballot WRs are. Evans isn’t on that level. Not even close. Recent history has guys who are clearly better than Evans not being first ballot.
The limit of about 5-7 players per class has thoroughly limited selections from some position groups and WRs definitely got hit hard.
Getting in would be possible, depending on long term trends for voting and appreciation of him.
First ballot? Nope. Main name I see as a potential first ballot WR is Larry Fitzgerald and he still likely gets put off due to the glut.
Posted on 11/30/23 at 4:37 pm to ZZTIGERS
He isn’t a first ballot HOFer but he also isn’t the fricking Tannehill equivalent of a WR. I think he needs a few more solid years to cement his spot in the HOF

It would be really hard for Fitzgerald not to be first ballot, though I guess theoretically possible. 2nd all-time in receiving yards and receptions, 6th all time in TDS, 11 pro bowls, and he was probably THE model NFL player off the field to boot.
Posted on 11/30/23 at 4:47 pm to ZZTIGERS
He's gonna end up with close to 15k yards maybe 110ish touchdown receptions so yeah easily. That super bowl ring helps a lot plus the record for 10 straight 1k yd seasons from rookie year to year 10 which NOBODY has ever done.
Also the fact he did all that with the Bucs just makes it more impressive.
