Cris Carter was in season and he was an AA candidate.

Bosworth

Marcus Dupree

These might be bigger and more damaging since they were in season.

Y'all are just naming names, none of these dudes compare to Tyrann because of the media age we live in now.

what exactly is so funny? Jenkins is a far superior cover corner than Mathieu

Jenkins is a no name. Mathieu was the best defensive player in college football.

which is why the OP said he wasn't as big a name

He had a great impact, made some huge plays that swung the momentum of games but he isn't anything special in coverage, which again is what the OP is saying. Jenkins had off the field issues otherwise he could've been a top 10 pick.

I know that RP was more of a loss to LSU than TM7 will likely be, but it doesn't mean that he was/is a bigger name.

Exactly.

-Randy Moss was a big damn deal coming out of HS.

Yes but Randy Moss wasn't a household name or a Heisman finalist.

-Marcus Vick was once given 38-1 odds to win the Heisman in the preseason. That's a pretty big deal. LINK

Because he is Michael Vick's little brother. And a Heisman hopeful does not equal a finalist.

-RP was the #1 recruit in the nation, and had just won the MVP of the SECCG in his second career start. . .also providing CoP to Flynn

TM was also the MVP of the Sec CG big deal. RP probably hurt more because of what LSU had behind him but he was no where near the contributor that TM7 was or a household name.
