Waitwut

Check the box scores on some of those Laker/Piston games from the early 2000s, sonny.

Grant Hill's first 6 seasons in Detroit preinjury were unrivaled. He obviously isn't top 10 bc playing the what if game is stupid, but people laughing him off like he wasn't on pace to be one of the best ever is silly.

Give a ton different stars prime Shaq and later a Gasol/Bynum big man combo and they'd have a ton of titles too.

I'm not sure what Shaq and Gasol have to do with Kobe making the All-NBA first team 11 times, the All-Defense First team 9 times, or being a 15 time All Star, but okay.

I wonder what they have to do with Kobe leading the league in total points 4 times, PPG 2 times, or having 3 seasons with at least 30 ppg.

What about him being NBA POW 33 times or NBA POM 17 times? Probably all Shaq and Gasol right?

.....nope, not even top 10. None of that even possible without Shaq, Pau, or Dwight right?

All by complete luck and accident. Holy Christ almighty.

i pray for the day the MSB gets off their knees from sucking LBJ's cock, to take a moment and realize the legacy Kobe Bryant has left behind.

I get the fact that you can't fathom another player in the same realm as LeBron because it's all you know.
But just stop for a minute, forget the fact Kobe is a Laker, isn't Lebron James, and an a-hole of a person to look at what Kobe has accomplished in 17 years.

How lucky are we to have grown up with the opportunity to Witness both Kobe and LeBron in the same era?

Keep berating and belittling the Hall of Fame players this generation has produced, you will be dismissing and neglecting one of the best era's the game of basketball has ever seen.

You mean reasonable people? Most people outside fanboy message boards don't have Kobe near the cream of the crop.

If you're starting a team, who the frick is taking Kobe over:

Magic, Bird, Kareem, Russell, Duncan, Jordan, LeBron, Wilt, Shaq, West or for some probably even Hakeem...considering with Kobe - you still need a big in the post to dominate his man otherwise you aren't winning under the Kobe rules.

Who cares about your star player having scoring titles if you're not winning? Problem with Kobe is he's always been about Kobe - one of the most selfish players ever - and not selfish in a good way for team basketball.

No one in their right mind would want to start a franchise with Kobe over the aforementioned players. Wilt was selfish but at least he was dominant in the middle.

Wilt and Russell were unskilled big men in an era of non relevancy. Both are legends but are similar to baseball greats (Honus Wagner, Tris Speaker, Cobb) who dominated when baseball was in its infancy. Legends but not top 10 or top 20 all time players.

Shaq only makes the list (as an unskilled big man) because he was dominant in the modern era.

I'd definitely take Kobe over Russell. Russell's legacy is SEVERELY overinflated because of those titles. He was never the alpha on those teams. NEVER.

Hold tight this guy says Shaq and Wilt are unskilled big men yet has Kareem in his top 5 over arguably the most skilled center (Olajuwon) of all-time?

Kareem had a better all around game from schoolboy to college to pros. Even when he was old, he was good.

Kareem is the most skilled big man.

He's probably to 15, not top ten. He's too inefficient, his best PER in a season only ranks 52nd all time. That's pretty terrible, only three players are represented in the top 10 PER seasons: Jordan, Wilt, and LeBron.

Russell is not the greatest defensive player of all-time, not by a long shot. Wilt abused his arse left and right. Fortunately for Russell, he played in arguably the lightest era for centers. It was Wilt then him, and no one. It was very much a backcourt league during their time.

Facts: Bill Russell never averaged more than 19 ppg and his career FG% was 44%.

Facts: Wilt Chamberlain averaged more than 19 ppg his first 12 seasons in the NBA, had 10 of 24 ppg or more, had 7 of 30 ppg or more, had 5 of 35 ppg or more, and had two of over 44 ppg. He shot 54% for his career.

Facts: Wilt Chamberlain led the NBA in RPG 11 times. Bill Russell only did it 5 times and 3 of those came before Wilt made it to the NBA.

Kareems's skill was the sky hook. He's nowhere close to the most skilled center, much less most skilled big man in NBA history.
