The media talks about him because they have to. They talk about how awful he is, his team wins, and they feel like they have to save face and make excuses as to why his team won.

That the point of him being an attention whore.

I really don't think that Tebow seeks all of the media attention. I'm not saying that he is uncomfortable with it, but Tebow himself can't force all of the ESPN shows to comment on him on a daily basis. They talk about him because it obviously creates viewers.

On another note, about a month ago, I heard several of the "experts" claiming that you don't waste time at the quarterback position. If you have a qb that can't get you to the Super Bowl, why waste time with him? Well, the Broncos knew that 4-14 Kyle Orton couldn't get them to the Super Bowl so they released him. What's the big deal?

I'm tired of hearing everyone saying, "Tim Tebow is NOT an NFL quarterback."

Stephen A. Smith is acting like Tebow took his job and his wife arguing this.

He reminds me of a high school freshman giving a book report. That includes the sound of his voice.
This is dead on.

I really cannot stand Chris Carter.

Dude was a total jackass saying Calvin Johnson wasn't a top 5 receiver in the NFL.

Shows how much he knows. Screw that Ohio St dickhead. Of course he hates Tebow. He also hates LSU no doubt.

Cuz he's a ginger.

He's socially awkward and way too enthusiastic about everything, but it's a genuine enthusiasm. If he wasn't such a good guy and such a good football player, he'd probably be really annoying to hang out with outside the realm of football.

Nice guy, but annoying. I'm sure we've all come across a ton of those people in our lives.

But ultimately he earns the respect of his teammates because he works hard and there is nothing fake about his persona.

From talking to people who have met him, he seems to be a genuinely good guy.

You were strangely absent the other night when Tebow won the game for his team...

I wish he'd do a Ricky Henderson and start talking in the 3rd person.

His defense won the game, son.

BTW, I don't hate Tebow. As I've said before, I hate the narrative that's built up around him, and I hate what's going to happen when the Broncos don't do well over the long run and people start to turn on him...

To wit: remember when Mark Sanchez just won games? Look at him now...

The 95 yard game winning drive didn't win it for them? defense kept them in it, Tebow won it.

No one that I knew said Sanchez was a game-changing playmaker.

I'll admit that i have a little "rooting for the underdog" syndrome, but you have to admit the guy has talent, I'm not saying he's Dan Marino, but he's a natural leader, and when the game's in doubt he more often than not comes up big...

He's not a good quarterback. Period.

The offense they are running around him is not built for long term success. Period.

When they start losing, and they will, people will turn on him.

The obsession with the last second stuff is like people going to a "psychic reader" and focusing on the one or two "hits" while ignoring the 100 misses.

Tebow has played HORRIBLY for the first three quarters of ball games, and performed rather well for the last five minutes of ball games. Which do you think is more representative of what he's going to be like in the long term?

And if you don't like the Sanchez example, I'll give you Vince Young. Still believe in him?

And again, Kyle Orton won his first six games in Denver. Heck, he "won games" in Chicago. Where is he now?

-----------------

I'll reiterate: I don't hate Tebow. I hate the narrative that is built up around him. I hate that people are throwing logic, reason, and true analysis out of the window and instead rely on cliches and other nonsense to talk about Tebow. I hate that Denver's defense is getting shafted by the media and the fans. I hate that people are ignoring Denver's real MVP, Von Miller.
