Is Iowa State the most obscure program in the P5?

They are always respectable and pull off the surprise win once a year it seems. Gave Oklahoma State their only loss a few years ago and last year beat Oklahoma. And right now there up in West Virginia so it continues. They are not a bad program they just get absolutely no recognition
I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in a prime time slot on ABC / Not a night game not a 2:30 start. I barely even know what their stadium looks like or what their fan base is like. I know in the mid 90s they had a kid run for 2000+ yards two years in a row.

They're pretty average. They do seem to pull upsets, sometimes robbing rightful champions of their easy ascension to the title, but they've only had two 8 win seasons in like 40 years.

Idk about all of that, but the “Farmageddon” series between them & KSU might be the greatest rivalry name ever

Their fans were fantastic and really showed up the couple times they came to the Indy Bowl. That and Seneca Wallace made me always root for them.
