My B, thought he went to Georgia. Then Shaq is the only one close to Barkley. I'm factoring in overall basketball careers and Pistol Pete turned into a bum and a junkie. I made a pledge to DARE and I'm a man of my word so I can't in good faith support a junkie as any type of GOAT

I never claimed Barkley was tGOAT basketball player, just the GOAT from the SEC. Malone and Russell didn't play in the SEC.
Malone may have had a slightly better career than Barkely, but in their primes Barkley is easily better.
Barkley led the GOAT basketball team ever assembled, 92 Dream Team, in scoring... Sounds like the GOAT to me

Bo is the only athlete to be an all-star at the highest level of two of the major sports
Bo was a more effective RB in college and professionally (YPC)
Herschel might hold a slight edge on the track, and have compete in shitty niche sports like bobsledding and mid-level MMA but that doesn't make him a better athlete.
Bo is widely and universally regarded as the GOAT athlete. Herschel isn't. There's a reason the Bo vs Herschel debate only pertains to GOAT college RB
