Can any school stand up to Iowa when it comes to TE? They don't have the best individual TE, but since 2000 I cant think of any school that comes close to the volume and consistency of Iowa TEs. For over 10 years now every TE from Iowa has gone onto be a very solid NFL player without fail. Iowa outs out complete, all-around TEs too, not just pass catchers but the best blocking TEs in business come from Iowa

One of only two schools with more than one Mackey Award winner.

All these are just from the Kirk Ferentz era.

-Dallas Clark, 1st round, (505 catches, 5665 yards, 53 TD)
-George Kittle, 5th round,(in only his second season, 112 catches, 1103 yards, 6 TD)
-Scott Chandler, 4th round (205 catches, 2379 yards, 21 TD)
-Brandon Myers, 6th round, (199 catches, 1954 yards, 9 TD)
-Tony Moeaki, 3rd round, (91 catches, 1201 yards, 6 TD, mostly in 2 seasons)
-CJ Fiedoriwitz, 3rd round, (89 catches, 881 yards, 6 TD, retired after 4 seasons due to concussions)

Before Ferentz they had a couple other good ones

-Marv Cook, 3rd round, (257 catches, 2190 yards, 13 TD)
-Jonathan Hayes, 2nd round, (153 catches, 1718 yards, 13 TD)

Oh, and Iowa had 2 TEs on their team this season that are more talented than any before them that I listed. Both will be 1st round draft picks.

-Noah Fant, highlights, he's been in every mock draft 1st round for 2019 since last year. Preseason All-American, 1st team All-Big Ten. Last two seasons at Iowa he's had 69 catches, 1012 yards, and 18 TD

-TJ Hockenson, highlights, Mackey Award Winner, Ozzie Newsome Award Winner, 1st team All-Big Ten, Walter Camp All-American. Last two seasons he's had 70 catches, 1037 yards, 9 TD catches, 1 rushing TD
He took the starting TE job from a preseason All-American and projected top 10 draft pick because he's one of the best blocking TEs I've ever seen. Violent, nasty, relentless blocker
Hockenson is a rsSO and still hasn't decided if he'll declare for draft. But he'll eventually be a 1st round pick either in 2019 or 2020

Owen Daniels and Lance Kendrick come to mind. Those two are good, gotta have more volume than that to be TEU though

When Jim Dray was a senior in 2009, he shared the Stanford tight-ends room with Coby Fleener, Zach Ertz, Levine Toilolo, Konrad Reuland and Ryan Hewitt.

All six would play in the NFL, probably the first time that’s happened at any school.

As pass catchers I think y'all are right for now. Don't remember how most of them were as blockers, I know Jimmy Graham is a notoriously bad blocker and barely even qualifies as a TE because he lines up out wide more than he does at TE.

By the time George Kittle is through, and Noah Fant and TJ Hockenson get their chance in the NFL I think Iowa will take the lead here.

No one cares about blocking TEs. It’s 2018
